Cool. I followed the blogger.com instructions for using a custom domain name and it works!
Today, I registered starshiptrip.com in godaddy and created the CNAME record. While the CNAME record for my domain with the DNS is being associated with ghs.google.com, I created an account with blogger.com. In my account settings and publishing option, I associated the starshiptrip.blogger.com address with the http://www.starshiptrip.com/. This turn out to be easy. All this occured within a couple of hours. It took about the same time to find a good domain name that wasn't used. All my favorites were taken!
It's nighty time.
